When you make a reservation, create a customer account, use our website or contact us, Transloc may collect personal information such as your first and last name, date of birth, home address, postal code, city, email address, telephone number, booking and rental information, information relating to the rented vehicle or trailer, payment-related information necessary to process your booking, and any other information you voluntarily provide when contacting us. Where necessary for the rental, Transloc may also collect information relating to your driving licence or identity verification.
2. Purpose of Data Processing
Your personal data may be used to manage and confirm bookings, create and manage customer accounts, verify the renter’s identity and eligibility, organise vehicle collection and return, process payments and security deposits, provide customer support, communicate with you regarding your booking, manage cancellations, refunds, claims, damages or disputes, prevent fraud and misuse of our services, comply with legal, accounting and regulatory obligations, improve our website and services, and measure website traffic and marketing performance where applicable.
3. Payments and Security Deposits
Online payments are processed through Stripe. Transloc does not directly store your full payment card details on its website. Where a security deposit is required, a bank card pre-authorisation may be used and, depending on the payment method and banking provider, the relevant amount may be temporarily blocked on your card without being immediately charged. Payment and transaction data may be processed directly by Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s own privacy and security policies.
4. Data Sharing
Your personal data may be shared only where necessary with service providers involved in the operation of our website and rental services, including Stripe for payment processing, Google Analytics where enabled for website traffic and usage analysis, Meta or Facebook Pixel where enabled for advertising and marketing measurement, website hosting and technical service providers, and accounting, legal or administrative service providers where required. Personal data may also be disclosed where required by law, by a competent authority, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Transloc does not sell or rent your personal data.
5. International Data Transfers
Some service providers used by Transloc may process personal data outside Switzerland. Where personal data is transferred internationally, Transloc seeks to use service providers and safeguards that provide an adequate level of data protection in accordance with applicable Swiss data protection requirements.
